The current exhibition in Bridge of Library remembers ‘Bridge of Allan Times’. This exhibition has been put together by Paul Husband, who provides this introduction:

“Twenty years ago a free newspaper dropped through letter-boxes of Bridge of Allan households, with news and information about upcoming events, proposed building developments, memorials in peril, churches about to be recycled, school and university news, village history and readers letters, to name but a few subjects encompassed by this new local paper.

The first eleven issues were produced on newsprint, then with the arrival of issue 12, the Bridge of Allan Times adopted a quality style and would continue in this format until winter 2016 when the final magazine, issue 39, was printed.

The editor throughout the entire run, from 2004 to 2016, was Allan Brown.

The Welsh Trust thought it would be worthwhile to look back at features and articles of this fondly remembered publication, especially in light of changes within the village in that short time”
