Burgh Map of Bridge of Allan [1871]
Paul Husband has spent hours and hours reproducing by hand the 1871 Burgh Map of Bridge of Allan. This has been no easy task as the original, which is very large is in many pieces, and Paul only had old photocopies of this to work from.
The copy by Paul, and the old photocopies from which he worked from, are kept by the Dr Welsh Trust. The map is currently on display in Bridge of Allan Library. It is worth visiting and is annotated with the 1871 names of Bridge Allan’s houses and buildings:
