Stevenson’s cave
Stevenson’s cave nestles beside the River Allan, half way between where the Cox burn and the Wharry burn join the river Allan.
The cave is on the lands of Drumdruils: a place more ancient than Bridge of Allan.
In this cave, Daniel McNeil Watson proposed to his sweetheart, Margaret Baird. Here is his diary entry, 22nd February 1866:
