Not so long ago, a Bridge of Allan schoolboy was talking with his mother about “Onion Street”. Baffled, the mother asked her son for more details of this street in Bridge of Allan. From which she realised that her son was referring to Union Street [which in the 19c was, at least in part, known as ‘Union Place]
